Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: May 27, 2026
You can delete data Melian holds about you at any time. Choose the option that matches what you want removed.
Disconnect Gmail (keep your Melian account)
If you connected your Gmail account so Melian could learn the brands and stores you already buy from, you can disconnect it at any time:
- Open the Melian app and go to Profile → Settings → Gmail.
- Tap Delete connection and confirm.
When you disconnect, Melian:
- Revokes the OAuth access token at Google.
- Deletes every purchase signal Melian extracted from your inbox (brand, store, category, product, price).
- Deletes the scan run records associated with your account.
- Deletes the Gmail connection itself.
You can also revoke Melian's access to your Google account directly at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. We detect the revocation on the next scan and clean up automatically.
Delete your entire Melian account
This removes your account and all data associated with it — profile, preferences, saved items, followed brands, and any Gmail signals we extracted.
- Open the Melian app and go to Profile → Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm the prompt.
This action cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app for any reason, email santiago@melian.com with the subject "Delete my account" and include the email address tied to your Melian account. We confirm and process the deletion within 7 days.
What happens after deletion
Live records are removed immediately. Encrypted backups can hold a copy for up to 30 days before they expire, after which the data is permanently gone. We don't restore deleted accounts.
